Same Day Work & Pay
In partnership with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Mt. Vernon Manor is thrilled to offer our Same Day Work & Pay program. Through this program, we hire residents of our community to provide crucial neighborhood cleaning and beautification services with same-day, on-site pay. Participants in the Same Day Work & Pay program receive $100 per day– up to once per month for 6 months– and can also be connected to social services. Ready, Set, Green!
Our Ready, Set, Green! landcare program employs young residents of Mantua– especially those facing employment barriers due to encounters with the criminal justice system– to landscape lots owned by Mt. Vernon Manor and the City of Philadelphia. Since 2019, we have partnered with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to clean, maintain, and beautify 441 lots per week. By providing these residents with job training and career development opportunities, we invest in the power of our neighbors to advance their professional trajectories while stewarding their communities. Our belief in second chances bolsters our commitment to paying our team a living wage.
